Debate rages despite 'advice'
Article Abstract:
The guidance to academic staff on the website of Manchester University to approach controversial issues with care and consideration to avoid outrage of students at the cost of effective learning is said to curb the freedom of academicians. The suppression of opinions, yielding to student campaigns that led to removal of some professors is viewed as damaging for the society.
