AUT to fight on alone in the battle for a better pay deal
Article Abstract:
The Association of University Teachers (AUT) plans to stand alone in its bid to obtain a better pay deal following the acceptance of the employers' final offer by leaders of Natfhe, lecturers' union, and the Educational Institute of Scotland. The acceptance of the deal, which involves a 6.4% pay increase so long as the biggest shake-up of career structures for 40 years goes ahead, by the two organisations means that the AUT, which is currently involved in indefinite industrial action, is the only one of the seven campus trade unions to reject the deal.
