Lack of records gets London Met in trouble with CRE

The Commission for Racial Equality has found that London Metropolitan University has broken race relations laws by not properly monitoring the impact of a performance-related pay scheme on ethnic minority staff. The university was unable to provide evidence that it had carried out a race equality assessment of its performance appraisal and development award scheme (Padas) in 2002.

HSE must act decisively to protect our staff, union says
Article Abstract:
The University and College Union (UCU) has demanded that the government abandon plans to reduce the regulatory burden on employers by moving towards a 'guidance' based approach by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The UCU hs said that the HSE should use its regulatory and enforcement powers more in an age where stress and other problems are increasing.
