From grunting to Granta; the rapid progress of the spoken word
Article Abstract:
Observers have noticed that as life has become more complicated, language has become much simpler in structure. For the last 2,000 years while progress was quicker language evolution has slowed down. The most complex forms now belong to groups such as Esquimaux and Zulus who live with less technology. It may be that technological evolution has given language less importance than formerly.

Why I urge vigilance against scientific fraud
Article Abstract:
An archeologist bemoans the fact that scientific fraud, particularly in the field of archaeology, is increasing and diversifying, and academics are being rewarded for work that is based on fraudulent research or reporting. Causes of this include the demand from the media for sensationalism, and increasing competition among academics.
