Gay academics settle for wage 'consolation prize'

Homosexual academics are being deprived of the promotions enjoyed by heterosexual peers by a glass ceiling, according to a study by Jeff Frank, professor of economics at Royal Holloway, University of London. Gay men are less likely than their heterosexual colleagues to be promoted but their pay is often raised as a 'consolation prize'.
