Good intentions, fatal outcomes; the latest twists as academics debate euthanasia
Article Abstract:
The issue of euthanasia continues to be debated in its various aspects, starting with the decisions made on the treatment of premature and sick babies. Doctors have to decide whether to treat the babies, perhaps causing them pain, if they are likely to die in a few days. Witholding treatment is an option which can be used, or giving a fatal injection. These choices are also open to those caring for terminally ill adult patients.
