Article Abstract:
Plans by Google (United States), online search company, to establish the Google Print project, a virtual library containing 15 million historic and rare books, have raised concerns about copyright issues. While organisations such as the Harvard, Stanford, Michigan and Oxford university libraries have signed up to the project, both the UK Publishers Association and the American Association of University Publishers have written to Google in order to clarify rights issues.

Nukes not necessary
Article Abstract:
A growing, and vocal, minority in the UK are calling for additional nuclear power facilities to be built if the country is to meet its targets for the reduction of carbon emissions. It is contended that there is no need for extra nuclear power plants and the state of the energy industries in the UK and Germany, where much more is being done to develop renewable energy resources, are compared.
