History without flowers
Article Abstract:
The Dictionary of National Biography, which was completed in 1902, is to be completely revised. The revisions are expected to vary depending on the work done by the subject, and women will feature more strongly. It is hoped that it will be published using computer technology as well as printed format. The publishers already have names of those omitted from the original volumes, and it is hoped they will be included.

A taste of history
Article Abstract:
Food is necessary to the existence of all living things, but only humans use food as part of our culture and society. We have strong feelings about what is suitable to eat, and are the only species that eat when no longer hungry, or refuse food when we need it. All humans eat some form of grasses and tubers. Food has been part of social change, sugar being a prime example, as is the rise of convenience foods.
