Dr Deadpan's bag of tricks
Article Abstract:
There have been criticisms of an approach to the presentation of ideas in higher education which involves standardised products. This approach can be called McDonaldization, and may involve a tutor's manual and workbook. Academics using these materials may find that they exhibit a distaste for it which is evident to the students. Using such material can also deaden the mind, and this can lead to those teaching with these materials missing details of what they teach.
