Is this written in text or just bad spelling?
Article Abstract:
A history lecturer examines the growing trend for students to use the type of short hand used in SMS text messages in their essays, especially the essays they write under exam conditions. It is argued that the use of this language makes the job of the marker - often an older person with a less sure grip of the short hand - more difficult, but it is also pointed out that not all technology is bad for markers. Getting students to write all their essays on a computer with the spell checker switched on would be a benefit as it would improve the spelling of the students.
