Kingsley's other Lucky Jim
Article Abstract:
The role of Kingsley Amis, one of Britain's most critical novelists, in establishing the James Bond franchise and in initiating serious critical study of the Bond books is discussed. Amis's "The James Bond Dossier" (1965) provides a remarkably objective approach to the Fleming novels by psychoanalyzing the plots and anticipating and fending off feminist objections to the character.
