Article Abstract:
The role of Jodi Cossor, senior biomechanist for the British Swimming team, in the preparations of the British Swimming team for the Athens Olympics is analysed. Cossor believes that it is the little things that can make the difference and it is this that she focuses, using banks of equipment, including to underwater cameras and statistics-crunching computer hardware, to dissect the smallest elements of each swimmer's performance so that they can improve.

Article Abstract:
An analysis of the way in which the intelligence services, such as the CIA in the US and MI5 and MI6 in the UK, recruit graduate students. It is suggested that the current system, which is open and accessible to anybody, lacks some of the romance of the era described by John le Carre or Graham Greene.
