An comparative analysis of the fundraising activities of universities in the United Kingdom and Canada. It is argued that, while there is some way to go, universities in the UK could catch up with their North American counterparts when it comes to fundraising.

An overview of the undergraduate system in Canada. It is noted that while the Canadian system mirrors that of the US, funding of the system more closely resembles the UK's system and, it is argued, research institutions are benefiting as a result of this.
