Article Abstract:
The London Film School (LFS) is 50 years old in 2006 and to celebrate held a month of screenings from alumni and a debate on the impact pf film schools on film culture. The origins of film schools are in the Soviet Union, China and the Eastern Bloc where the aim was to promote broader access to the means of production, getting people which were not aristicracy and from leading families to make films.
