Our private concerns
Article Abstract:
The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), the watchdog for educational standards at higher education institutions in the UK, is a classic monopoly and should be subject to real competition. It is contended that a number of the largest auditing companies would be capable of conducting audits of academic operations and the entry of such companies into the market would prove to be good for the higher education sector, good for the taxpayer and, ultimately, good for the QAA.
