Oxford expert fights in 'pure' Iceland battle
Article Abstract:
Peter Donnelly, an Oxford University statistician, has helped dispel doubts about a study published by Agnar Helgason, who works for private genetics research company deCODE, that identified natives of Iceland as an uniquely pure gene pool suitable for medical research. Einar Arnason, a professor of evolutionary biology and population genetics at Iceland University, disputed Helgason's claims, publishing his own paper which proved that the data used by Helgason was flawed and came from sources known to be riddled with errors.
