Radical reform of post-16 predicted
Article Abstract:
A single quality assurance organisation and a single funding body for post-16 training and education in England are being considered by the government under plans to restructure the entire further education framework. Training and Enterprise Councils would be abolished, together with the Further Education Funding Council for England. Legislation could be introduced in 2001 to introduce the radical shake-up, with existing arrangements criticized for their duplication and incoherence.

QAA deals blow to UK abroad...
Article Abstract:
The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) has reported on problems in three university operations of three British universities in Malaysia. Robert Gordon University, University of Hertfordshire and Liverpool John Moores University were found not to have achieved the standards set by the QAA. There are nearly 17,000 Malaysians paying fees to study in Britain, but competition from Australia and the US has meant that numbers have fallen.
