Scots lead student U-turn
Article Abstract:
Scottish students are opposing a campaign by the UK National Union of Students (NUS) for grants to be restored to levels previously seen in 1979. The Welsh and Scottish conferences of the NUS both oppose such a campaign. The National Union of Students may abandon the campaign. New Solutions, a moderate student group, argues that the campaign does not address issues such as hardship among students, quality problems, and the need for wider access for students.
