Role play: why girls will be boys
Article Abstract:
Female androgyne is the subject of a novel entitled The Changeling which has been written by Alison MacLeod and is based on a true story which has been supplemented by MacLeod's research. The story revolves around a girl in 1724 who is brought up as a boy to hide her illegitimacy. Female impersonators are not often seen, although many have been sighted in the media during MacLeod's research.

Many top UK sports people consult a psychologist before they face an important challenge. The part played by stress is an important factor for many athletes, it can be a positive or negative force. This is being studied at Loughborough University's sports science department. The department is also considering the ethics of able-bodied people participating in wheelchair sports.

Ways in which campaigners for University lecturers' pay rise have been affected by their actions are discussed. Particular focus is given to the legal framework stipulating that campaigners are not to be paid at all before they resume normal working hours.
