Sino-Russian boarders
Article Abstract:
While around 1 million Russians have moved from Siberia, north and far east Russia into central Russia since 1990, the Chinese have slowly been arriving in Russian Chinese border states. Estimates vary between 300,000 to 2 million legal and illegal immigrants, and if the trend continues, it is estimated that within 20 years Chinese people could make up the majority of the population in the southern regions of Chitinskaya, Amurskaya, Khabarovskaya, and the Maritime Province.

Last of the bid spenders
Article Abstract:
The break up of the Soviet Union has led to large scientific projects being abandoned through lack of funds. The world's biggest proton synchrotron accelerator was being built, but construction has stopped. Other projects have been taken over by the new republics rather than being available to all the scientific community. Financial help for Russian atomic scientists has been promised but has not yet arrived.
