Sophistry isn't very clever
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the need for those setting exams to comply with the legal requirements of the 2001 Special Education Needs and Disability Act and word questions in such a manner that they are not confusing or in which the true meaning of the question has to be deciphered. It is argued that exam questions have often been the weak link in higher education, that they are often unfair to those with disabilities such as dyslexia, or who speak English as a second language, and that it is about time the standard of questions was forced to improve.

Article Abstract:
An analysis of the implication that, as a result of the 2001 Special Education Needs and Disability Act, exam questions should be worded in such a way that they are easily understandable by everybody. It is argued that the whole purpose of higher education is to identify the most gifted and that asking questions that confuse some people and which are difficult to answer is one way of doing this.
