Article Abstract:
An analysis of the debate surround the Labour Party's plans for the reform of the higher education system and the introduction of student top-up fees. It is argued that these reforms are needed if the United Kingdom wants to have a properly funded higher education system and that killing the proposed scheme would only serve to turn what is at present a crisis into a disaster.
