Step closer to super-union
Article Abstract:
Natfhe and the Association of University Teachers have agreed a timetable for merger, paving the way for the formation of a single higher education union perhaps by as soon as spring 2006. A firm merger proposal could be ready for the unions' conferences in spring 2005 which, if agreed by delegates, could see members being balloted on the prospect of merger in September and October 2005 and the formal establishment of the new union taking place the following spring.
