Still bang on target
Article Abstract:
The chairman of the Universities and Colleges Employers' Association argues, in the light of motions put forward by the Association of University Teachers (AUT) at its council meeting, that the framework agreement for pay modernisation agreed on by the employers and trade unions is on course and will bring about improvements for staff. The AUT had suggested that universities were dragging their heels in implementing the changes but, it is contended, only a third of the agreed upon timescale for implementation of the framework has passed and for the AUT to have expected all institutions to have already implemented such radical changes to a 50 year-old system is unrealistic.
