Sunny Scots' dull quest
Article Abstract:
The Electronic, Photonic and Information Control Centre of the University of Abertay Dundee has launched a project designed to help end the frustration that bank customers feel when they find themselves unable to read the screen on an outdoor cashpoint because of the glare produced by sunlight hitting the screen. The centre is collaborating with the Department of Trade and Industry and the National Physical Laboratory for the research, which aims to establish techniques to measure and evaluate various aspects of displays, including contract, reliability and pulsed light.
