The opt-out myth
Article Abstract:
Professional women in the U.S. are said to be "opting out" of the workplace in favor of staying at home to raise their families. However, this opt-out theory focuses more on the personal choice of a small proportion of American women, rather than on public, systematic influences, thus ignoring the need for policy changes that could help transform the system.
