Where the dead rest in pieces
Article Abstract:
The work of American anthropologist Bill Bass in the field of human body decomposition is made in the light of the publication of the book "Death's Acre: Inside the Legendary "Body Farm"" by Bill Bass and Jon Jefferson. Bass first started his work on decomposition in the late 1970s after an error that saw him identify a body that had been buried for 113 years as only having been in the ground for six months to a year. Bass was embarrassed by the almost complete lack of scientific data about the decomposition of bodies and set about rectifying the situation through the establishment of his "Body Farm".
