Article Abstract:
York University is attempting to push through a GBP 500 million development to the east of the village of Heslington for a new campus which will take student numbers to 15,000 from 10,000. Some ninety percent of the 750 residents in the village are opposed to the plans which will see 100 hectares of green-belt land taken over.
