The rise and rise of porn chic
Article Abstract:
An analysis of how feminists should react to the gradual creep of pornography into the mainstream and the rise of so-called "sleaze style". It is argued that the move of sex into the mainstream of popular culture is down to the belief that with the growth of equality between men and women, girls are now free to pursue their sexuality in any way they wish, thereby moving themselves out of the any kind of victim position and therefore disavowing any need for protection from, possibly interfering, feminist moral guardians.

Cutting girls down to Victoria Beckham's size
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the way in which consumer culture in the UK has promoted a particular strain of female success to the exclusion of all others. It is argued that this form of female success actually enfeebles women and erodes their confidence to question the way they are being portrayed and that this has resulted in a drastic fall in the number of female students expressing an interest in political activities.
