...urge academics to support Israeli academics' right to free expression
Article Abstract:
The professor of political geography in the department of politics and government at Ben Gurion University in Israel argues that academics should support the right of Israeli academics to free expression in the light of the decision by Limor Livnat, Israeli minister of education, not to attend the annual meeting of the board of governors of Ben Gurion University because she objected to views expressed by a faculty-member that were published in Belgium that were critical of the Israeli government's policy of targeted assassinations. It is contended that academics should be supported in their right to express their political beliefs without the fear that it will jeopardise their professional future.

'He did all that was possible - he saved 150 Jews'
Article Abstract:
Shimon Redlich, emeritus professor of Ben Gurion University, believes that Israel should honour Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytskyi who headed the Greek Catholic (Uniate) Church as he risked his life in the Second World War to save some 150 Jews. However, some believe that the actions of Andrei Sheptytskyi are invalidated by his support of the Ukrainian SS division.
