24-bit DSP adds dynamic digital sound to Yamaha's MD recorder
Article Abstract:
Yamaha Corp launched the MDX-793 full-sized minidisc (MD) recorder on a global scale in Jun 1998. The product was developed with an aim to approximate the sound quality offered by the deluxe CDX-993 CD player. Yamaha made this possible by integrating a 24-bit digital signal processor with adaptive transform acoustic coding IC, Super Bit Allocation technology and a 20-bit digital-analog converter into the MDX-793 model.
