Offering gains in capacity, quality, DVD audios prepare to unseat CDs
Article Abstract:
DVDs are poised to unseat CDs because the former feature all the advantages of CDs but with better capabilities and sophisticated functionality. DVD audio provides a theoretical dynamic range of 144dB and supports a maximum sampling rate of 24 bits, compared to CD's 98dB and 16 bits. DVD audio featurs the smart content function, enabling the synthesis of multiple-channel sources into two channels for output.
