With digital radio options abound
Article Abstract:
Consumer electronics manufacturers are developing digital radio using two approaches through the conversion of current radio broadcasting from an analog signal to digital or through signing up with a satellite service that offers digital music in traditional radio broadcasting style. Lucent Digital Radio and USA Digital Radio have teamed up with terrestrial broadcasters and manufacturers to facilitate the transition of radio from analog to digital. Satellite television providers that are offering digital radio in the year 2000 are XM Satellite and Sirius Satellite Radio.

Alliances aim to bolster digital film formats
Article Abstract:
The Photo Marketing Assn show in Feb 2000, is expected to highlight the existence of industry alliances that will bolster such new digital image storage formats as Memory Stick and Secure Disk (SD). Lexar and Sony, which have already announced an alliance for the Memory Stick format, has already licensed the technology to Philips, Olympus and Sharp. An alliance between Matsushita Electric, SanDisk and Toshiba for the SD format has already gained the support of 71 other firms.
