At 35th InterBEE, exhibitors lure broadcasters with digital goodies

The 1999 International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition (InterBEE), held in Japan in Nov 1999, featured a number of digital equipment that aid in quicker program production and editing. The show also showcased equipment used for high-definition TV, highlighting the impending move by Japanese broadcasters into digital technology. Many of the manufacturers participating at the InterBEE were aware that Japanese broadcasting firms are going to invest in digital broadcasting equipment in the very near future.

Japanese makers put digital broadcasting in InterBEE spotlight

Digital broadcasting equipment were the focus of the 1999 International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition in Japan in Nov 1999. The marketing direction is in anticipation of the investments that will be made by Japanese broadcasting firms when they shift to digital broadcast. The participating digital broadcast equipment makers include Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd, Sony Corp, NEC Corp, Hitachi Denshi Ltd, Toshiba Corp, Ikegami Tsushinki Ltd, Pioneer Corp, Canon Inc, Fuji Photo Optical Company Ltd and Leader Electronics Corp.

InterBEE traces digital trends creating economic ripple effects
Article Abstract:
The latest in digital technologies ranging from materials to transportation and transmission were the focus of the 2000 International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition (InterBEE) held on Nov 15-17, 2000 at the Nippon Convention Center in Makuhari Messe, Chiba Prefecture in Japan. Also, technologies relating to digital Hi-Vision broadcasts and datacasts were exhibited at the show. In addition to Japanese manufacturers, companies from Europe and the US also participated in at 2000 InterBEE.
