With GigaMO system, Fujitsu, Sony extend capacity of 3.5-inch MO to 1.3GB
Article Abstract:
Fujitsu Ltd and Sony Corp have introduced an original 3.5-in magneto- optical (MO) disc system with a 1.3 GB capacity. Called the GigaMO system, it is one of the first to use Magnetically Induced Super Resolution technology, which allows drives to read very small magnetic marks. The demand for large-capacity removable storage is increasing with the introduction of large-capacity computers that process increasing volumes of graphic and image data.
