Car Audio Industry Steers Toward Multimedia Jackpot

Clarion Company Ltd, in cooperation with Microsoft Corp, has developed the Clarion AutoPC car computer. The device, which combines Microsoft's AutoPC platform with Clarion's audio/visual technologies, permits such functions as wireless communication, data transfer and travel-distance measurements. The Clarion AutoPC, which also features verbal command recognition is expected to have a major impact in the future design of automobile multimedia systems.

Pioneer fine-tunes activities for 'in-car entertainment'
Article Abstract:
The MOSFET 45 amplifier chip is used in the latest head units made by Pioneer Electronic Corp, including car-use TV tuners, auto navigation systems, CD and MiniDisc head units. The MOSFET 45 has a rated output of 45W, which delivers better sound quality. Its noise level is 20 db less than other output devices. The chip can be used to drive a pair of subwoofers through the rear channels and a pair of speakers in the front.
