Mask system, car navigators rin in harmony with Kenwood's plans
Article Abstract:
Kenwood Corp is integrating the unique Mask design to its car audio-video (A/V) systems in the car aftermarket, while launching the car navigation systems in the European market. Linked to the car's ignition, the Mask Panel uses the Kenwood Stealth Retraction Mechanism, which causes the operation panel of the car audio system to pop-up when the car ignition key is in place, and to retract when the key is taken out. After launching car navigation systems in August 1998, the company will introduce map software for CD-ROM systems initially in the German market, before offering map software on CD-ROMs in several languages in October 1998.
