DVD arrivals trigger refinement in amps, speakers for home theaters
Article Abstract:
The emergence of the digital video disc format has enhanced consumer pleasure in home video viewing and in listening to audio recordings. This trend has made amplifier and speaker manufacturers improve their products to meet consumer demand. Amplifier companies have responded to the demand by offering products with decoders to process Dolby and other digital signals and products that feature input terminals to process 5.1 channel analog signals coming from external decoders. Speaker manufacturers have also upgraded products to meet home THX standards established by Lucasfilm Ltd with certified THX systems, satellite speaker systems and virtual sound systems.
