Denon deploys DVD to reinforce home theater business operations

Nippon Columbia Company Ltd, the maker of the Denon-brand DVD players and audio/video (A/V) receivers, will release the AVR-4800 for FY2000. The company has emerged as one of the world's top suppliers of home theater equipment due to the good market performance of its AVR-5700 and AVR-3300 DVD players in 1999. Nippon Columbia's Denon AVR-4800, which will be the first A/V receiver to incorporate a THX Surround EX decoder, is priced at only $2,000.

Denon readies rollout of CD-R players as demand rises

Nippon Columbia Co Ltd (Denon) will introduce CDR-1000, a full-recordable (CDR) compact disc (CD) player with recording and playing capabilities, in 2000. The CDR-1000 has been designed with the ability to both replay audio CD-Rs and rewritable CDs. Meanwhile, Denon is also prepared to launch additional models to its line of audio-video receivers and digital video disc-video players.

D-MO6 mini component system by Denon

Nippon Columbia Company Ltd (Denon) has expanded its line of Lapisia series of mini-component systems with the introduction of D-MO6. The debuting audio system has the functions of a MiniDisc, a tuner and a compact disc. In addition, it is capable of double-speed recording with synchronized and program recording, track editing and hyper-track editing. Denon's D-MO6 retails for $582.
