Standards could defuse rivalry among DVD recorder manufacturers
Article Abstract:
The DVD Forum in Jun 2000 announced plans to create VD Multi standards to settle rivalry between makers that support DVD-RAM standard and those that back the DVD-RW format. The proposed DVD Multi standards is expected to allow manufacturers to develop recorders compatible with multiple formats. However, there is no guarantee that companies would make products that conform to DVD Multi standards.
