Developers begin exploring versatility of IC recorders
Article Abstract:
Major manufacturers of magnetic tapes and tape recorders are beginning to explore the potential of IC recorders. Many of these manufacturers are already competing to extend the recording period of these recorders. Using only a semiconductor memory, IC recorders can record audio material as well as offer the random access capabilities of digital disc media. The industry predicts that demand for IC recorders in year 2000 will increase 60% to 400,000 units, compared with demand in 1999 of 25% to 150,000 units.
