DigiPower lenses promise to open horizons in digital image systems

Fuji Photo Optical will display its DigiPower EFP Series of digital lenses at the NAB 1999 annual trade show. The EFP Series incorporates a 32-bit RISC processor in the lens and a CPU in each servo for full digital servo control of zoom, focus and iris. The lenses incorporate the Digital QuickZoom function, which allows the lens to return to its preselected shot in full focus. The EFP also features a one-shot preset function, which returns the lens to the selected settings through a single touch of the switch.

HA20x7.8 lenses for HDTV cameras

Fuji Photo Optical Co Ltd's HA20x7.8 small, lightweight camera lens is compatible with high-definition TV and fine-definition movie cameras. It also provides left--hand and right-hand displays of zoom, focus and iris status. Part of the latest HD Cine Lens series, it costs $25,688. Other models available are the HA10x5 superwide lens for $23,853, as well as the HAF5, HAF8, HAF12 and HAF40 fixed-focus lenses with prices ranging from $16,514-$25,688. All models work with 24-frame progressive scan systems.

Fuji Photo Optical will introduce new DigiPower lenses at the NAB '99 annual trade show. The DigiPower lenses feature full-digital zoom, focus and iris control sections. Included in DigiPower is the AT2 model, which has lightweight aspherical lenses for fine picture quality and is geared for electronic news gathering. Another is the A22 x 7.8, which is a magnitude above that of conventional standard lenses. The A22 is especially suited for sporting events and virtual studio programming.
