Makers of camera systems prepare for economic rebound in Japan
Article Abstract:
Japanese manufacturers of monitoring camera equipment are preparing for an increase in demand when the country begins to rebound from the Asian economic crisis. The Japanese market for monitoring camera systems in FY 1998 is predicted to level with that in the previous fiscal year at about 100 billion yen. To boost demand, manufacturers are developing more sophisticated systems that provide improved speed, tracking, zooming accuracy and picture quality.

Swift searches power disc systems for recording surveillance
Article Abstract:
Japanese manufacturers of closed circuit surveillance TVs (CCTVs) have enhanced their products by developing systems with hard disc drives or DVD-RAMs. CCTVs using discs for recording images provide faster searching, better picture quality and more reliable image storage capabilities than traditional time-lapse video cassetter recorders. On such CCTV system is from Matsushita Communication Industrial Company Ltd.
