Article Abstract:
Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd, in cooperation with Fujitsu Ltd, has released a graphics display controller LSI that is capable of drawing 100M-pixels every second. The MB86390, which retails for 5,000 yen ($47), is designed for car navigation systems as well as other grahic display units. Fujitsu's display controller LSI, which does not need a cooling device or a heat-radiation plate, has a power consumption of 1W while operating at 100MHz.

Rohm Company Ltd's BU2991FV controller provides a 12-line X 28-digit display and 512 display characters as well as 20 text sizes and fonts. For manipulating on-screen displays in digital cameras, Video CD players, digital camcorders and other systems, the controller LSI can handle mirror reversals, three-dimensional displays, overlapping displays and other display capabilities other than text display.

Article Abstract:
NEC Corp introduces the micronPD72851 and micronPD72852 Physical Layer LSIs. They are compatible with IEEE394a-2000 specifications, thus they work on digital camcorders and other portable digital electronics. They only consume 240mW during 400Mbps transmissions, even with two ports in operation. Their use ensure mutual connection with comparable products by other makers.
