Fight for acceptance
Article Abstract:
Majority of audio equipment manufacturers are still hesitant to sell their products through the Internet despite the undisputed success of electronic commerce. They believe that the Internet cannot be an effective selling tool for audio, video and home theater systems because customers cannot hear the sound quality of what they wish to purchase, thus creating the possibility of costly returns and dissatisfied customers. Despite this prevailing negative attitude, several e-tailers, including HiFi.com, GetPlugged.com and CoolAudio.com, continue their efforts to convince audio equipment manufacturers of the benefits of on-line selling by improving the services they offer.

Microsoft on trial; it's not over yet
Article Abstract:
Microsoft Corp may have lost in the antitrust case presided by US District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson. Judge Jackson's initial findings show that the software company holds a monopoly over a relevant segment of the computer market and is guilty of using its operating system supremacy to thwart the development of other software and Internet developers. If these findings are reflected on the final decision of the court, Microsoft may be broken up into separate companies.
