The combination of digital and flat screen TVs produces a synergistic effect in the audio-video (A/V) world, which has spurred demand for DVD recorders and home theaters as well as Internet-based TV. Among DVD recorders, models with hard disc drives (HDDs) are especially popular as users can record as many programs as they like on HDDs and can record their favorite content on DVDs.
