DynaBook 4050X/2540S notebook computers
Article Abstract:
Toshiba Corp, Japan, has introduced its new DynaBook 4050X and DynaBook 2540S A4 notebook computers to the market. These new products incorporate 24X-speed CD-ROM drives and 56 Kbps fax modems. They feature a large variety of software including the Internet Explore 4.01, with some of the software also being accessible on the accompanying CD-ROM. Users can depress a function key to activate an Internet connection. Both models have the same CPU speed and memory size.

Coreless motors for phones
Article Abstract:
The motor division of Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd of Japan has introduced a new coreless motor for mobile telephones in 1999. The motor is one of the smallest of its type, measuring 4 mm wide x 11.5 mm long and weighing 0.6 grams. It has a motor speed of 9,000 rpm and offers a 1.3 V rating. It operates from 1.1 V to 1.7 V power source, using a 0.5 V starting voltage.
