Europe's energy sector would significantly benefit from the implementation of the EMU, which is expected to increase market investments by $6.7 billion and eliminate risks associated with cross-border operations. The policy would also generate considerable decrease in interest rates, promoting growth and expansion.

The shift to a common European currency unit should eventually and substantially benefit all firms doing business in Europe.
