Hyundai readies for looming shakeout in Korean cellular phones
Article Abstract:
Hyundai Electronics Industries Company Ltd has created alternatives to sidestep the results of a Korean government banning the providers of cellular phones frm subsidizing sales of cellular phone equipment. It can sidestep the cutoff in local demand since 73% of its production goes to export markets. For markets outside Korea, Hyundai is tackling other challenges. It is developing cellular phones for Europe's Global System for Mobile Communications system.
