Makers seek to harness camcorder appeal to consumer need
Article Abstract:
Camcorders are one of the products considered to have the most potential for growth in the consumer electronics market. The latest models utilize highly advanced technologies and some are small enough to fit in the palms of users or in shirt pockets. While their versatile functions have encouraged market growth, their market saturation has remained low compared to other products. One factor for the low demand is the perception that camcorders are toy or hobby items. The advancement of digital formats in camcorders has expanded its potential to be linked to computers and for other uses.
